Welcome to the MOST comprehensive list of military support Facebook pages for Europe!  If you are moving or traveling to Europe or just want to know what’s going on military-wise in Europe, see below.  I am always updating and revising the list below.  If you are a servicemember or a spouse of a servicemember or even a civilian assigned or traveling overseas, I bet you can find a support page below.  These pages are a great place to get first hand information about life overseas.  If you don’t see your community listed below, be sure to let me know, so I can add it!

I’ve seen these pages help people in need.  I am reminded of a wife who skidded into a ditch with her car, and the first thing she thought of and had the contact information for, was the Facebook page for her community.  Someone on the page helped her get a reputable tow truck almost immediately.  I’ve also seen someone who needed a vital ingredient for her dish, with guests coming on the way, and another member in her community offering up the goods.  Many of these pages are vibrant and active and have members who really help one another.  Looking for a hotel recommendation?  How about a place to eat?  Or where can you get your dog groomed?  Every question you can think of gets answered in some way.

This list is in somewhat random order, but I have tried to group countries and areas together!  I’ve also included some “official” community and organizational links towards the bottom, so don’t forget to check that area.  I say official because they were most likely drummed up by the people in charge at those organizations and communities, but I have not personally gone and checked each one nor will I.  Keep in mind don’t take anything you read on any of these newsfeeds as the final word on any policy…..even the “official” ones.  Unless you read it in an official document officially put out by that organization through normal channels, you are just reading someone’s opinion and recommendation…much like I do on my blog:-)

And lastly, PLEASE don’t EVER post any personal information to any of these groups. There is no way for the moderators to regulate who joins.  You could have Osama bin Laden’s brother himself joining the group and reading and tracking what you say.  Never post any identifying information as to where you live, your phone number, car type, route to work/school/play, where you hang out or when you will not be at home, I don’t care how great that vacation deal is.  Dont talk about your husband’s rank or unit or when he comes home, leaves or God forbid deploys!  Some things you should keep to yourself in the interest of personal safety and security (PERSEC).  If you make a deal to buy something (or sell something), as many of these groups allow that or have off-shoot groups for advertising, make the smart choice and meet the person in a public place, preferably on-post.  Only exchange cell phone numbers right before you meet if absolutely needed.  I like to meet people in the lobby of our library to exchange goods myself.  You find yourself a good place too.  Oh, and let me know if I missed some pages or groups.  I probably did.  I’m always updating the list!
